Media Release

The Hawai’i Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) will again hold a boys and girls intermediate school spring basketball league.

League play will begin Friday, March 4, and end Friday, May 13. Games will be played at Andrews Gym, Honomu Gym and the Hilo Armory.

The league is for 6th, 7th and 8th grade intermediate school students only. Teams are formed within the interested students’ intermediate schools and will compete against other participating intermediate schools. Outside organizations may participate by representing the schools they attend. Home school students and schools unable to formulate a team can combine to make teams.

Teams that participated in the 2010 fall intermediate school basketball league are automatically part of this spring 2011 session.

All interested coaches are encouraged to call Officer Joseph Botelho Jr. at 961-2220 or the Community Policing Office at 961-8121.
