Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for a man wanted for a burglary and theft in Hilo last month.

Several items valued at more than $300 were stolen from a home on lower Haihai Street on the morning of October 30.

Investigation by detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section led to the identity of the suspect, 21-year-old Kalei Kaaumoana of Hilo. He is described as 5-foot-5, 180 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

He is also wanted for questioning in connection with other burglaries in the Waiākea Uka area.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective John Rodrigues at 961-8222 or jrodrigues@co.hawaii.hi.us.
