MEDIA RELEASE

To better serve the public, effective November 6, 2003, the Hawaii Police Department will be relocating the Hilo Police Station Receiving Desk to the newly constructed detention facility located off of the Hualalai Street entrance into the Hilo Public Safety Complex. The current Information Desk, located on the first floor of the Public Safety Building below Driver Licensing, will be closed.

Anyone wishing to file a complaint or in need of information should proceed to the front entrance of the detention center. Parking is available for the public within the parking lot fronting the detention center, which can be accessed off of Hualalai Street.

The public is reminded to call 911 for emergencies, or 935-3311 for non-emergency police assistance.
