MEDIA RELEASE

Kona police are advising motorists that a portion of Nape Road in Honalo, South Kona, has been shut down because of a fire.

A portion of the road was closed at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (March 5, 2002) because of a fire at the Kona Self Storage facility, located on Halekii Street.

The road closure was expected to continue at least until nightfall.

A few Honalo residents have been affected by the road closure, but have not been threatened by the fire, a police spokesman said.
