South Kohala patrol officers have recovered an assortment of merchandise taken in burglaries at numerous homes in the Waikoloa area of South Kohala.

During the weekend (March 9-10, 2002), police recovered men’s and women’s jewelry, a Sony Play Station game with eight games, 80 music compact discs, women’s clothing and cosmetics. The value of the recovered items, taken in five reported burglaries, is estimated at more than $7,500.

Information that led to the recovery of the stolen items resulted from an investigation of possible suspects by South Kohala Patrol Officer Thomas Fratinardo.

Officer Fratinardo also recovered jewelry that has not yet been identified. He asked that anyone who had jewelry taken from a residence in the Waikoloa area to call him at the South Kohala station at 887-3080.

Police have identified two juvenile suspects allegedly involved in the burglaries.
