Hawaiʻi Island police have charged 38-year-old Pedro Peter of Kailua-Kona with 10 offenses in connection with a motor vehicle accident Wednesday (January 9) that killed a 3-year-old boy who fell out of his pickup truck on the shoulder of Route 190 in the Kalaoa area.

At 7:54 p.m. Friday (January 11), Peter was charged with manslaughter, no operator’s license, no no-fault insurance, four counts of no child restraint and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

He remains at the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $52,125 bail pending his initial court appearance on Monday.
