Big Island Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying one or more people who broke into a Matson container at a construction site in Kapaau and stole 14 tools.

The burglary was at a home construction site at the top of Kynnersley Road. It took place sometime between Monday, October 30, and Tuesday, October 31.

Among the items taken was a Honda generator.

The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at $8,000 to $9,000.

Police ask that anyone with information about the case call Officer Edward Lewis at 889-6540 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in East Hawaii or 329-8181 in West Hawaii. Calls to Crime Stoppers are kept confidential.
