Big Island police are investigating a burglary that occurred at a business establishment in Kapa’au, North Kohala.

During the early morning hours of Thursday, March 18, an unknown male broke into the establishment and removed U.S. currency and merchandise valued in excess of $300.

A video surveillance camera was able to capture a photo of the perpetrator who was dressed in black and was wearing a mask.

This individual may also be responsible for several other burglaries and vehicle break-ins that have occurred within the last few months in the Kapa’au and Ainakea areas.

Police are asking that anyone with information about this case call Officer Dale Ku at 889-6540 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
