The Hawai’i Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating items stolen from a boat in the Kawaihae Harbor area.

On May 4, South Kohala Police responded to a report of a theft of a CB radio, an amplifier, a fishing gaff, tools and a large camouflage parachute from a fishing boat stored near LST Landing by Sharks Cove in Kawaihae. Patrol Officers determined that an unknown suspect entered the boat and removed the items before leaving the area on foot.

Police ask that anyone with information about the whereabouts of the missing items call Officer Edward Lewis at 887-3082 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
