Paul Kealoha—promoted to assistant chief effective July 18

Media Release

Chief Harry S. Kubojiri has promoted Major Paul Kealoha to assistant chief effective July 18.

Kealoha will be in charge of Area II Operations in West Hawaiʻi. Assistant Chief Henry Tavares, a Hilo resident who is now in charge of Area II Operations, will transfer to Area I Operations in East Hawaiʻi on the same date.

Kealoha is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He joined the Hawaiʻi Police Department in 1985 and has worked in West Hawaiʻi for 24 of his 26 years on the police force. For the last two years he has been the major in charge of Administrative Services.
