Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who reportedly attacked a Keaukaha resident on January 26.

The victim reported at 9:30 p.m. that an unknown local male forced his way onto his property on Kalanianaole Avenue, ripped a gate off its hinges and hit the victim in the face, knocking him unconscious. A witness saw a red car and a white pickup truck with a pipe rack in the area shortly after the alleged attack.

An unknown man came to the victim’s assistance but left the area before police were able to speak to him about anything he may have witnessed.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Officer Edwin Namohala at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
