On Thursday (January 21) at 2022 hours, Hawai’i Police Department Patrol Officers responded to a report of an assault that occurred at a residence located on Lunapule Road in Kailua-Kona. Officers determined that the victim, a 26-year-old male from Kailua-Kona, had sustained multiple lacerations during a confrontation with another 42-year-old male who resides at the same location.

The victim was transported to the Kona Community Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released. The suspect was arrested and remains in custody at the Kona Police Station Cellblock. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Section Area II are continuing with the investigation.
