Preliminary autopsy results Monday (May 3, 1999) have determined that a Ka’u man whose body was found the day before died of traumatic head injuries.

A police investigation also shows that the victim’s injuries are consistent with a fall.

The victim, identified as Jonathan Umiamaka, 24, of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, was found early Sunday lying face down in the underground parking lot of Waterfront Row in Kailua-Kona.

Kona police have classified the case as a corner’s inquest, and their investigation into the victim’s death is continuing pending blood alcohol and toxicological tests.
