Kona police are investigating an incident in which a Holualoa man was shot in the leg Wednesday evening (April 26, 2000).

Police received a call at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday that a man had been shot.

Investigating officers determined that a 54-year-old Holualoa man had been shot in the left thigh. The victim told the officers that he had gone outside of his residence to check on a suspicious noise when he was shot in the leg by an unknown person.

He was taken to the Kona Community Hospital for treatment of his injury and remains in stable condition at the hospital.

Police have no suspects in the shooting, and Kona Criminal Investigation Section detectives are continuing the investigation.
