Media Release (Update)

An autopsy was conducted on Victoria Vickers at the Kona Community Hospital Thursday morning. It was determined that she died as a result of a stab wound to her upper left torso. The incident, which occurred at a residence in the Kaohe area of South Kona was a result of an argument which took place within the residence. Linda Vickers, a 61 year old female, also received injuries to her hand during this event and was treated and released from the Kona Community Hospital.

James Abernethy has been charged with Murder in the second degree and Assault in the second degree. Bail has been currently set at $120,000. Abernethy remains in the Kona Police Cellblock, awaiting arraignment.
