…charged in vacation home robbery case

A 24-year-old man has been charged with six offenses in connection with a robbery late Wednesday (June 23) at a vacation rental home in Kailua-Kona.

At 3 p.m. Friday (June 25) police charged Zackariah Weimer of Kailua-Kona with second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, third-degree assault, third-degree theft, theft of a credit card and unauthorized entry into a dwelling.

The unauthorized entry into a dwelling charge was for entering the vacation rental home an additional time earlier on the same day as the robbery.

Weimer was also charged with first-degree trespassing for entering a vacant apartment on Ali’i Drive just hours before the robbery.

His bail has been set at $74,000.
