Charged with sexual assault

A Kona man is in police custody after being charged today (January 31) in connection with a sexual assault over the weekend.

An adult female reported Saturday (January 27) that she woke up in her home early that morning to find a man sexually assaulting her. The man then left the scene.

Investigation by Kona patrol officers led to the arrest of Jeremy Henriquez on Tuesday (January 30). Kona Juvenile Aid Section detectives charged Henriquez today with second-degree sexual assault, first-degree burglary and violating probation. Henriquez is being held in the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $100,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
