Big Island police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing from the Salvation Army’s interim home in Hilo since July 25, 2000.

The missing girl is Renee N. Katada. Katada is described as being Hawaiian-Chinese, being 5 feet in height, weighing about 110 pounds with a medium build and having shoulder-length, straight dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Detective John Ancheta of the Juvenile Aid Section at 961-2276 or the police emergency number at 935-3311. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
