The Hawaii Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 50-year-old Laupahoehoe man missing since Friday (January 30).

Roger A. Espejo was last seen around 9:20 p.m. Friday in a pasture in Paauilo off Route 19 between the 36- and 37-mile markers.

Police and Fire Department personnel searched the area Tuesday (February 3) but were unable to locate Espejo.

Espejo is described as Filipino, 5-foot-4, 130 to 145 pounds with brown eyes, black hair. He was last seen wearing shorts and no shirt. He suffers from several medical conditions that require medication.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call Detective Kelley Matsumoto at 961-2380 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
