MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

An 80-year-old Honokaa man reported missing since Sunday (January 9, 2000) has been located safe and in good health at a friend’s house in Volcano.

The missing man, Robert Tamaye, reportedly asked his friend to pick him up Sunday at Hilo Airport without telling his family.

Tamaye had been visiting Honolulu for a doctor’s appointment and was last seen standing in line Sunday afternoon at Honolulu International Airport for a direct flight to Hilo. Tamaye’s family became concerned when he didn’t meet his son at Hilo Airport after the flight landed.
