Big Island police are searching for a 48-year-old Ka’Å« man reported missing from the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision.

George Moniz Jr. left his home on Aloha Boulevard around 3 p.m. Wednesday (February 3) and failed to return home.

He has a medical condition that requires medication, which he does not have with him.

Moniz is described as 5-foot-8, 144 pounds with a tan complexion and a slender build. He has balding shoulder-length brown and white hair, which he usually pulls into a ponytail, and a long goatee. He has tattoos of a scorpion and hula girl on his back and the word “Keoki” on his shoulder.

He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved T-shirt, beige shorts and sandals.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
