Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 43-year-old Hilo man who was reported missing on Sunday (August 17).

Deryl Eugene Van Houtian is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-6, 145 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He has a medical condition that requires medication.

He was last seen Thursday afternoon at a home on Kukuau Street in Hilo.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
