Hawaii County police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Waimea man who has been missing since Tuesday, September 4.

Stephen “Kaipo” Young, 47, was last seen in Kona at a friend’s house. He is described as 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with short black hair and a thin mustache. He was last seen in his 1995 silver Ford extra-cab Ranger pickup truck, license plate GDP 818.

Police ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Officer John Gandolf at at 887-3080; Detective Zachary Houchin at 326-4646, extension 262; or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 329-8181 in Kona or 961-8300 in Hilo. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
