On December 28, 2005, at 9:00 a.m., a foreign national reported missing since December 23, 2005, was located at a hotel on Banyan Drive, in Hilo.

Alain Pierre De Toffoli had appeared at the hotel after returning from a hiking trip. Toffoli was reported to be in good condition.
