On September 7, 2008, at about 6:30 a.m., Kona Patrol officers responded to a report of a death by stabbing occurring at a residence located on Alii Drive, North Kona.

Upon arrival, an 85-year-old man identified as John M. Scott, was found dead within the residence from an apparent stab wound. Detectives assigned to the Area II Criminal Investigations Section determined that Scott, who resided at the home, was stabbed at least once in the upper torso.

Police arrested 51-year-old Anthony Scott of Kailua-Kona for murder. He is being detained at the Kona Police Cellblock. The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section.
