A Ka’u patrol officer was arrested Friday (March 30, 2001) and charged with four offenses stemming from two separate incidents of alleged domestic abuse.

Officer Warren Ke, 38, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. at the Naalehu Police Station by detectives of the Kona Domestic Violence Unit. He was charged at 8:08 p.m. with two counts of abuse of a family or household member, one count of hindering prosecution and one count of unlawful imprisonment.

Ke was arrested after a 20-year-old Hawaiian Ocean View Estates woman reported to police that Ke had assaulted her in two separate recent incidents and had prevented her from reporting it to police investigators.

Ke was being held in the Kona police cellblock Friday night in lieu of bail totaling $8,000.
