Aloha Exchange Club President Dale Tokuuke presents an ‘Officer of the Month’ award to Officer Kenneth Ishii

Media Release

The Aloha Exchange Club of East Hawai’i recognized Puna Patrol Officer Kenneth Ishii on Thursday (April 22) as “Officer of the Month” for April.

Ishii was honored for his investigation of juveniles in possession of stolen property in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision in Puna. His efforts led to the discovery of four additional burglaries of vacant houses and the recovery of stolen items.

“Officer Ishii is being recognized for his initiative, perseverance and investigative skills,” said Glenn Uehana, in nominating the officer for the award. “Had he not been diligent in his follow-up investigation, the discovery of these burglaries would probably have been delayed for months, the perpetrators long gone.”

As “Officer of the Month,” Ishii is eligible for “Officer of the Year.”

The East Hawaii “Officer of the Month” award is a project of the Aloha Exchange Club of Hilo.
