The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Officer Erich Jackson as “Officer of the Month” for January in a luncheon ceremony Wednesday (January 6) at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Jackson was recognized for his efforts in recovering drugs, stolen jewelry and other stolen property during the investigation of a suspicious vehicle on Kuakini Highway. Jackson’s efforts lead to the arrest of the driver, who was on parole and had just given methamphetamine to his 16-year-old passenger.

As Officer of the Month, Jackson is eligible to become Officer of the Year.
