Media Release

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Detective Scott Kurishige as “Officer of the Month” for October last week.

During a luncheon ceremony October 3 at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, Kurishige was recognized for his efforts in recovering stolen firearms and other property from a rash of residential and commercial burglaries in the South Kona area.

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is an organization that encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting the Hawaii Police Department in its efforts to prevent crime, deter potential criminals and enforce the law.
