Media Release

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Detective Walter Ah Mow as "Officer of the Month" in a luncheon ceremony Wednesday (November 5) at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Ah Mow was recognized for gaining the confidence of a sexual assault suspect and obtaining a confession from him.

As "Officer of the Month," he is eligible to become "Officer of the Year."

The Kona Crime Prevention Committee is an organization that encourages community involvement in aiding and supporting police in West Hawaii.
