Police arrested 10 persons for a variety of drug offenses Wednesday afternoon (December 1, 1999) after a raid on what officers described as a “drug house” in the Panaewa Houselots area of Hilo.

Acting on a search warrant about 4:30 p.m., police raided a residence on Ulumau Place and arrested eight males and two females for promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

In the raid, Hilo Vice Section officers confiscated 14.1 grams of crack cocaine, 6.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine (“ice”) and 44.9 grams of dried marijuana. In addition, police confiscated $843 in cash subject to forfeiture.

The 10 suspects were released pending further investigation.
