MEDIA RELEASE UPDATE

Traffic Enforcement Unit officers have identified a Kona man who died of injuries he suffered in a moped crash on Sunday (May 1, 2005).

The victim was identified as Andrew Powers, 41, of Holualoa.

Powers was killed in a crash that occurred about 11:26 p.m. Sunday. Responding Kona patrol officers determined that he was riding his Hyosung moped east on the Honokohau Boat Ramp Road when he lost control, fell over and hit his head on the pavement.

The case is being investigated as a public accident.
