MEDIA RELEASE

Big Island police are looking for a Tennessee man who hasn’t contacted his family since November 23, 2004.

The missing man was identified as William West. He is described as being a Caucasian, being 6-foot-4 in height, weighing about 200 pounds with a medium build and having balding and graying hair. Family members say he may also have a beard.

West had rented a car on the Big Island, but turned it in to the car rental firm. He also was reported to have stayed at a bed and breakfast facility in Ka’u.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on his whereabouts to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311 or the missing man’s brother, Walton West, at (731) 234-8721 in Tennessee.
