Police are investigating the theft of more than $12,000 in miscellaneous jewelry from a kiosk at the Prince Kuhio Plaza shopping center in Hilo.

South Hilo patrol officers determined that sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday (August 23, 2002) and 10:15 a.m. Sunday (August 24, 2003) a thief or thieves broke into the kiosk and stole the jewelry.

The stolen jewelry includes 100 sterling silver neck chains, eight silver bracelets with gold honu and quilt designs and six silver bracelets with dragon, phoenix and peacock designs.

Anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the thieves is asked to call Officer Derek Morimoto of the South Hilo Patrol at 961-2311 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
