MEDIA RELEASE

The two-story section of a house burned down Tuesday (October 12, 1999) in the Glenwood area of the Puna District.

Responding to a 5:30 p.m. call, police officers and multiple and volunteer fire units arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

Police said the five-bedroom house was divided into two sections by a patio. A two-story section with three bedrooms was destroyed by the flames.

No one was reported home at the time of the blaze, and there were no reported injuries caused by the fire.

The owner of the house, located off Volcano Highway just above the South Glenwood Road intersection, was identified as Carol Tolar

There was no immediate estimate of damages, and fire inspectors are investigating the cause of the blaze.
