MEDIA RELEASE (UPDATE NO.2 CORRECTED)

Traffic investigators are asking the public for help in locating the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run motor vehicle/pedestrian crash March 9 at 10:44 p.m. on North Kulani Road.

The victim of the hit-and-run, identified as Raymond L. Carvalho IV of Mountain View, was walking north on North Kulani Road when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling north.

Police believe the vehicle may be a blue 1999 to 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck or a blue 2000 to 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban. 

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call Officer Norbert Serrao at 961-8118 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers in Hilo at 961-8300 or in Kona at 329-8181.
