MEDIA RELEASE

A vacant home in Hawaiian Beaches, Puna, was destroyed by fire early Wednesday (July 5, 2000).

Responding a 3:55 a.m. call, police and fire personnel arrived to find the single-story, wooden structure on Moana Street completely engulfed in flames.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire could not be immediately determined, and there was no immediate estimate of damages.

Police said the house, belonging to Beverly Medeiros, had been vacant for about a month.
