Two men and a woman were arrested at a Puna residence Thursday morning (December 23, 1999) for a variety of drug offenses following a three-month investigation by Criminal Intelligence Unit and Hilo Vice Section officers.

Acting on a search warrant at 9:22 a.m., police raided a house in Hawaiian Paradise Park and uncovered an indoor marijuana growing operation.

Officers arrested the two men, 47 and 45, and the woman, 43, on one count of commercial promotion of marijuana, three counts of third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and one count of possessing drug paraphernalia. The older man was also arrested for five counts of first-degree promotion of a detrimental drug involving the sale of marijuana.

The officers also confiscated 55 marijuana plants ranging in height from seedlings to 1 foot, 9 grams of dried marijuana and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

The three suspects were released pending further investigation by Hilo Vice Section detectives.
