Big Island police are renewing their request for the public’s help in locating a 28-year-old man wanted for the sexual assault of a minor in Puna.

Mauro Martin Ortiz of Hawaiian Paradise Park is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6, about 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Police caution the public not to approach him but to call police if they see him.

Ortiz may be in the company of 19-year Nohealani Cabarloc, whom detectives would also like to contact. She may be operating a red 1999 Ford F150 stepside pickup truck, license number NDE995. She is described as 5-foot-4, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

A female minor was sexually assaulted early on the morning of June 22 in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision.

Police caution the public not to approach Ortiz but to call police if they see him.

They ask anyone who knows the whereabouts of Ortiz or Cabarloc to call Detective Alston Kimura at 961-2278, Detective Lorenzo Artienda at 961-8839 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
