Rains, flooding force closure of Hilo’s Kam Avenue 04-12-04

MEDIA RELEASE

Because of heavy rains and flooding, Hilo police have closed down Kamehameha Avenue from Waianuenue Avenue to Manono Street.

Officers are rerouting traffic to the Bayfront Highway.

Kamehameha Avenue will be closed to traffic until further notice, and police are urging motorists to try to avoid the area as much as possible.
