The Hawai’i Police Department is investigating a theft of jewelry from a visitor in Hilo last week.

A 47-year-old Oahu woman reported that on August 24, an unknown person removed her Hawaiian Bracelet after she left it briefly unattended in a restroom at a business on Hinano Street. The 10 mm bracelet, valued at $5,000, is described as 14 carat gold and approximately 7 inches long.

Police ask that anyone with information about this theft call Officer Erhard Autrata at 961-2213, or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Konai. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
