Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in providing information about the theft of a moped in Kawaihae sometime between March 27 and March 28.

The red 2006 Honda Elite moped was secured to a guard rail on Queen Kaahumanu Highway between the 57- and 58-mile marker when it was stolen.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to call Officer Clarence Yee at 887-3080 or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
