MEDIA RELEASE

Police arrested a 21-year-old suspect on a warrant after he turned himself in at the Kona police station about 8:20 p.m. Monday (October 8, 2001).

The suspect was identified as Shane Honolii Salis, also known as “Shaney Boy.”

Salis was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for burglary, terroristic threatening, assault and assault on a police officer.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 9, 2001, at a residence in Kapaau, North Kohala.

Salis is being held at the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $100,000 bail.
