West Hawaii Vice Section officers arrested and charged a 45-year-old male for drug and firearm offenses Friday (February 11, 2005) after executing a series of search warrants.

Nathan S. Abe of Kailua-Kona was arrested Wednesday evening at the Keahole-Kona International Airport when search warrants were executed upon the suspected “ice” distributor and his motor vehicle. Police seized individual packets of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As part of the investigation, additional search warrants were executed at three other locations in the Kailua-Kona area. As a result, police recovered 42.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana seeds, glass smoke pipes, gram scales, and a firearm. A motor vehicle and $601 in cash were seized for possible forfeiture.

Abe was charged with one count of unlawful trafficking of methamphetamine, five counts of promoting a dangerous drug, one count of promoting a detrimental drug, five counts of illegal possession of drug paraphernalia, four firearm offenses, and one count of obstructing governmental operations.

Abe was released from custody after posting $56,500 bail.
