MEDIA RELEASE

Police have arrested a 27-year-old Puna man for burglary in connection with the burglary of a Kinoole Street residence in Hilo.

The suspect, identified as Rainson K. Galdones, of a Hawaiian Paradise Park address, was charged Monday (May 12, 2003) with second-degree burglary. His bail was set at $5,000.

Galdones was charged for a burglary that occurred April 25, 2003, in which an estimated $15,000 in jewelry was taken.

A preliminary investigation by South Hilo Patrol officers uncovered latent fingerprints, which led to Galdones’ arrest, Hilo Criminal Investigation Section detectives said.

Galdones was held in the Hilo police cellblock pending his arraignment in court Wednesday.
