Two men arrested in Kona burglary investigation 12-11-05

On December 10, 2005, Detectives from the West Hawai`i Criminal Investigation Section arrested and charged two adult males for recent burglary and property crimes in the West Hawai`i area.

Darren Holloway, age 37, of no permanent address was arrested by Kona Patrol officers, on Friday, December 9, 2005, after being identified as a suspect of a residential burglary in Kailua-Kona, which occurred on December 5, 2005.

David Carvalho Jr., age 35, of no permanent address, was also arrested on Friday, December 9, 2005, for several burglaries and Parole Violation after he turned himself in to the State of Hawai`i Sheriffs.

As a result of investigations conducted by Detectives, Darren Holloway was arrested and charged for three counts of Burglary and nine counts of Theft. He was also arrested for Promoting Dangerous Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia, and Promoting Detrimental Drugs, after small amounts of crystal methamphetamine and marijuana was found in his possession. Bail has been set at $49,500.

Detectives arrested and charged David Carvalho Jr. with ten counts of Burglary, twenty-five counts of Theft, Forgery, Identity Theft, and four counts of firearms offenses. Bail for Carvalho has been set at $200,000.

Both Carvalho and Holloway have been identified as being involved in several of the burglaries reported in the Kona and South Kohala districts. Detectives are continuing their investigations into cases where both individuals acted either together or individually in committing crimes in the West Hawai`i region.

Currently Detectives have recovered firearms, jewelry, and personal items that were removed in several of the cases.

Both Carvalho and Holloway are currently in custody at the Kona District station cellblock awaiting appearance in Kona District Court, on Monday, December 12, 2005.
