The Hawaii Police Department has initiated an investigation into the cause of death of an unidentified adult male whose body was found on Sunday (November 2, 2003). The body was located off of the Saddle Road in the vicinity of the 12 mile marker by a hunter who was searching for a missing dog.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2003, in order to determine the cause of death. Police are also asking for the public’s assistance in helping to identify this male person.

Anyone having information regarding an unaccounted for male is asked to contact Detective Jason Cortez of the Hilo Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2255 or to call Hilo Crimestoppers at 961-8300 or West Hawaii Crimestoppers at 329-8181.
