The Hawai’i Police Department has responded to numerous complaints in recent weeks about criminal property damage to vehicles parked at shopping centers in Hilo.

In response, officers are pursuing all leads and stepping up patrols of shopping center parking lots.

Police ask anyone who sees suspicious activity around parked cars to call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 967-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
