Visitor robbed in Kailua-Kona 04-11-05

Big Island police are looking for two men who robbed a male visitor Sunday (April 10, 2005) in Kailua-Kona.

Responding to an 11:22 p.m. call, Kona patrol officers determined that two men in a small white sedan stopped a visitor from California on Alii Drive between Coconut Grove and the King Kamehameha Hotel. The men asked the visitor for the time, and while he was distracted, one of the men reached from the sedan and took the visitor’s wallet.

The visitor received minor injuries when he attempted to retrieve his wallet from the sedan while the thieves were driving away.

Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who knows the identity of the robbers is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.
