Waimea Traffic Snarl 02/03/00

MEDIA RELEASE

The Hawaii County Police Department is advising motorists traveling through Waimea town on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 19) to anticipate delays of up to one-half hour on weekdays until Friday, February 11, 2000.

The county has begun resurfacing the roadway between Mana Road and Kamamalu Street with traffic reduced to one lane of travel. Construction is scheduled daily between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Motorists are asked to plan for these delays when traveling through Waimea.

Anyone having questions or experiencing problems because of the resurfacing project may contact the County Highways Division at 961-8349.
